Welcome to Abundance Photography.
I am a self-taught photographer who started playing around with photography in 2003, several months after moving from the UK to Japan.
Japan is a country of extremes: it is brilliant and awful. Some of the brilliance is that the Japanese have a very different perception of light and they allow more colour in their lives, this in turn gave me permission to have more colour in mine.
I was very blessed to live on the fifth floor of an apartment block with East, South and West facing windows and clear views (this is very rare for Japan) So unless stated all the light in my work comes from sunlight. I don't alter my images in photoshop. I am blessed with having no idea how to do that nor the time to learn. I only resize my work and watermark/copyright it.
Some of my early shots are only 3 or 5 megapixel but I have still included them in my collection. When I started to outgrow my point and press camera, I sold my little runaround car to buy a professional DSLR camera. By then I knew photography was going to be part of my life, so I didn't mind walking or catching the bus to get around!
I have always loved digital art but felt I could get my colours direct from my camera. I'm a Holistic Therapist by trade so I've got a good perception of light too. Just as one would look for the light in a person, one can find the heaven in a flower. Most of the time this goes unnoticed.
So my intentions are to make you feel good. We are so busy in our lives that we don't tend to stop and look at the beauty of nature close up. The heaven in flowers is a pleasant energy to have around. I would want you to have something in your home or workspace that brings some light into your life.
I returned to live in the UK in August 2010 and have continued to photograph flowers and trees.
